Georges Rousse

The Peter Miller Gallery is pleased to present the Chicago debut of Paris based photographer Georges Rousse, opening Friday, September 13th with a reception from 6-9pm, and on view through October 12th.

Georges Rousse uses photography, painting, sculpture and architecture to produce his photographic interventions. Starting with an abandoned building, he alters the space through a strategic use of perspective so that the viewer perceives what appears to be a painted or drawn image floating on the surface of the print. The final prints are the record of Rousse’s alterations, perplexing and confounding the viewer.

Public collections include the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, The Menil Collection Museum in Houston, Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Musée Louvre and Bibliotheque nationale de France in Paris, Kunstmuseum in Vienna, and Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Modern Art in Kobe.
