Ron Laboray: Extending the Science

Ron Laboray's new paintings examine the intersection of places both real and imaginary. Hell, Nirvana, and Paradise are actual communities in Michigan; here they are shown as pools of paint drifting over a map of the state. In Laboray's work we see how maps and paintings share a similar nature: they are artificial systems made up of visual codes.
