The Peter Miller Gallery is pleased to open its new location in the West Loop Gate with a one person show of paintings, objects and constructions by Brian Kapernekas
This body of work is the result of Brian’s examination of cultural evidence, and the connections linking objects with our experience of their existence. In his statement he says: "I am interested in uncovering these links and placing them in a situation that forces their own existence to be questioned. What manifests is Belly Flop, where the weightlessness of the imagination can exist within the weight of the world for what seems to be just a moment, a flash, before it all falls apart."
Brian Kapernekas received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999. Since then he has exhibited at Aron Packer Gallery, Holmes Gallery at Northern Illinois University, and most recently in "Pop Inventory," a two person show with Mark Murphy at Peter Miller Gallery.
